Mission targets service quality, material standards, and compliance with project guidelines
On July 10, 2025, key staff from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) under the Emergency to Resilience (E2R) intervention visited a project site in Adamawa State to assess the quality of ongoing humanitarian infrastructure works.
The inspection centred on the construction of a borehole aimed at improving access to clean water for residents in targeted communities. The visit was designed to ensure that materials used were of high quality, work was progressing according to NRC’s technical guidelines, and the contractor’s team remained fully engaged on-site.
Technical oversight was led by Umar Al Qassim, NRC WASH Project Manager for Area South, who confirmed that the borehole construction met the organisation’s engineering and safety standards.
The assessment team also included Winfred Mbusya, Consortium Manager; Asher Osman, Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for the Consortium; and Adama Saleh Isah, Finance Coordinator for E2R.
The NRC emphasised that such visits are part of its accountability framework to guarantee that humanitarian interventions in Adamawa are delivered effectively, sustainably, and in line with resilience-building goals for communities recovering from crisis.
